The neighbourhood
Conde Duque takes its name from the 18th-century barracks that is now a cultural centre, with exhibitions and concerts all year. The Plaza de las Comendadoras, right outside our door, is one of the few squares in Madrid where nobody is in a hurry.

Can I work on my laptop?
Yes, at the shared table and while there is room. We are not a coworking space, so we cannot reserve or guarantee seats, and at weekends the wifi may run on a per-order time limit. Ask the team and they will explain.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. Whether you come alone, with company, with family, with the kids or with your pet, Federal is your place.
How late can I eat?
It depends on the house. In the day bar above, the ochre band marks when the kitchen runs and the sage band when we are still serving coffee.
Do prices include VAT?
Yes. Terrace and garden carry a 10 % supplement, and gluten-free or rye bread may cost slightly more.
